Mangrove Check (ROVECHECK) in Teluk Awur Jepara

Teluk Awur, Jepara. On May, 1 2007, The Members of KeSEMaT Jepara, i.e. Faradhian Fahmi, Yanuar Noor Akbar, Sunanto Kusuma P., Windy Indra A., Diana P., Putri Dwi W., Melia Wardhani, Yunita D. P., and Nurul Fitrah, held Mangrove Check (ROVECHEK) to check mangrove species existed in Teluk Awur, Jepara. It started at 4 PM - 6 PM.

ROVECHECK had identified 14 mangrove species in south of Teluk Awur Jepara. It consists of Mangrove Mayor and Associate such as (1) Avicennia marina, (2) Bruguiera gymnorrhiza (3) Lumnitzera racemosa (4) Excoecaria agallocha (5) Ceriops tagal (6) Ceriops decandra (7) Calotropis gigantea (8) Rhizophora apiculata (9) R. mucronata (10) Spinifex littoreus (11) Acanthus ilicifolius (12) Pandanus tectorius (13) Vitex ovata.

This activity had resulted recommendations such as (1) Five from ten of mangrove trees had been cut by community, (2) Mangrove campaign to increase mangrove-awareness of Teluk Awur community, (3) Mangroves need to be save because have many functions such as nursery ground, spawning ground, feeding ground and another ecologist functions.
