NEWS April - June 2007 April, 27 2007 Herbivory Research in Arboretum of KeSEMaT, Jepara
Teluk Awur, Jepara. Simply, herbivory is research of mangrove leaves, which was prey by predator. This research has aims to know how many mangrove leaves was attacked by predators. Picture above showed crab, which often prey three months of mangrove leaves.
Except crabs, there were another predators such as scale- insects, insects and gastropods existed in mangrove vegetation of Awur Bay. During April 2007, Members of KeSEMaT conducted research to measure mangrove leaves attacked by predator.
To know how many percent of it, there were measurements of herbivory and morphometry by plagiarizing mangrove leaves at block-millimeter paper, then measuring it with planimetry. Gathered data analyzed by SPSS. [<]
