Mangrove Survey in Trimulyo Demak

Trimulyo - Demak, Central Java. In June, 30 2007, KeSEMaT conducted mangrove survey in Trimulyo-Village, Demak. This activity started at 9 AM until 5 PM. It had aim to choose location of mangrove re-plantation initiated by KeSEMaT and DKP of Semarang which would be conducting on August 2007.   

KeSEMaT represented by Isna Bahtiar (MENSEK), Arief Marsudi Harjo (DP), Aris Priyono (DK) and Andi Rahman (Alumnus) was surveying mangrove species (major, minor and associate), type of sediment, pollutant percentage, tide, wave, social-economic aspect, etcetera.

This survey resulted some recommendations there were two species which would be chosen by KeSEMaT i.e. Rhizophora spp and Avicennia spp, which would be planting around the river (muddy substrate) and the sea (sandy substrate), respectively. Before Avicennia was planted, there were important to build sea-wall to save seeds from huge wave. [<]
